THE THREE WINTERS

The story of the ' 3 Winters'. it goes like this.....

Children, today I will begin by speaking of how it is with us and of what our hearts are feeling....
It is a green-land here at the Spirit Horse Ranch in the Black Jack Hills of Oklahoma,  not really warming up yet...the greens are the new children born of gray skies, a cool, later Spring and cold rains.....a very northern green. These late cold snaps remind me of a teaching I was given in story form one day, many moons ago when I lived in the deeper south.
These 'winters' bring late 'colds' and would have us to understand and accept that nothing happens suddenly or all at once and can teach us how to be mindful and gentle with ourselves as 'things' unfold and sprouts emerge in our minds, hearts, bodies and spirits according to the passing hours, days, months and seasons of our lives. Our first, most beautiful and reliable 'mirror' has been, is, and will always be...our Mother Earth and Father Sky-Sun, the skebyak;, the green beings, noden;, the winds, m'bis; the waters; the fire beings, directions and elementals.

This is the story of 'the 3 winters'. This story is to be told after full winter is giving way to the 'longer sun'. This and other stories help to explain the shifts our Mother Earth and Father Sky-Sun are living through and offer us a 'way' to view and welcome in the new season (s) while not having yet fully emerged from the creative void of winter.

The first 'winter' of spring comes when the red bud tree flowers. It is called 'Redbud Winter'.
The second 'winter' of spring comes when the dogwood tree blooms. It is called 'Dogwood Winter'.
The third 'winter' comes when the blackberries bloom. It is called 'Blackberry Winter'.

To continue in the vein of the 3Winters, additional photos will be posted  of the vegetable garden with white eagle Cherokee blue corn sprouts reaching for the sun and drinking of the rain.

One week from today we will be sitting in circle with our sisters and brothers at the Wisdom Keepers Gathering, Council Grove, KS, mirroring the spring greens of our newness for one another...

We are the new myth makers. Watch your personal myths reveal themselves and emerge in your minds, hearts, bodies, spirits, FACES and WORDS.
Come, let us truly mirror for one another that we might see who we are in one another's eyes.
